vulgo Versacgeli, seu Versacili, Turcis, Leuncl. a Versaco, urbe primaria sedeque Praefecti, quae olim Antiochia Pisidiae, Asiae region. Bithyniae Isauriae, et Pamphyliae finitima, cuius oppida enumerantur, Selga, Salagassum, Petneltssum, Adadata, Brias, Grenna, et alia nonnulla. Populi Pisidae, de quibus Livius, l. 38. c. 15. ubi de expeditione Manlii in Pisidiam et vicina loca: Inde agrum Saglassenum, uberem fertilemque omni genere frugum ventum est. Colunt Pisidae longe optimii bello regionis eius. Coeterum, regio haec in Laterculo provinciarum Geographiae Ptolemaeiadiuncto, in quo provinciae Asiae maioris recensentur, sub Pamphylia, una cum Isauria, comprehenditur: Παμφυλία, εν ᾗ Πιςιδία καὶ Ι᾿ςαυρία. Quarum proin duarum Ptolemaeus non meminit, in en aratione partium seu provinciarum Asiae X. solâ Pamphyliae mentione factâ. Sub iurisdictione Proconsulis non erat, sed Dioeceseos Vicario suberat, qui insuper Pamphyliam, Lydiam, Carima, Lyciam, Lycaoniam et Phrygiam utramque regebat, uti patet ex Notitia Arcadii: interim peculiarem habebat Praesidem, uti pluribus ostendit Salmas. ad Solin. p. 803. et seqq.
